Inclusive Spaces & Reservations

Whether you're on the uptown or downtown campus, you can expect Tulane University to be a welcoming and inclusive environment. We offer several options for affirming spaces on campus that go beyond to provide a welcoming environment where you can bring your full self without hesitation.

In addition, The Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life has spaces available for programs and events that center BIPOC and QT communities. We encourage student organizations and campus partners to request spaces as needed. Please email Olivia Gowen at ogowen@tulane.edu or call (504) 865-5181 for more information.

Welcoming & Affirming Spaces

The "O" provides a variety of welcoming spaces that students often visit to decompress, study, dine, meet new people, and engage in meaningful dialogue about critical issues, problems, and solutions. The offers spaces where students can actively explore difference and build affinity throughout their time at Tulane University.

Whether you're on the uptown or downtown campus, you can expect Tulane University to be a welcoming and inclusive environment. Specifically the "O" offers several options for affirming spaces on campus that go beyond to provide a welcoming environment where you can bring your full self without hesitation:

The O

The O is a comfortable space on the garden level of the LBC that has couches and chairs for students to drop in and relax any time. It is comprised of the Office for Gender and Sexual Diversity (OGSD), the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), and Religious Life. Here you will find the staff of OGSD and OMA, a living room/study area, Internet access, a TV, DVD player, movies, games, information, and resources. Students may reserve the O conference room for meetings. The O is located on the garden level of the Lavin-Bernick Center for Student Life (LBC) in Suite G04

The O Relaxation Lounge

The O Relaxation Lounge is located next to the O on the garden level of the LBC. There are huge beanbags, zero-gravity chairs, yoga and meditation supplies, speakers for music, a television with an Amazon Fire Stick (including Netflix, Pandora, Amazon Video, and more), books, movies, games, information, and more. Feel free to drop in during normal business hours.

The Mosaic Lounge

The Mosaic Lounge is located on the ground floor of Warren House, beside SoHo (Weatherhead), behind Butler, and is a designated safe space for LGBTQ+ students. Inside the Mosaic Lounge you will find safe sex supplies, Internet access, a TV, DVD player, movies, games, books, information, and much more. Student organizations often hold meetings and study breaks here

If you have any questions about multicultural life and/or gender and sexual diversity at Tulane University, please call 504-865-5181. Or e-mail us at oma@tulane.edu and/or ogsd@tulane.edu
